Checking the paint coating with a thickness gauge = condition of the car body
Before buying a car, it is important to check the quality of the paintwork. One of the effective methods is measuring with a thickness gauge, the last one measures the thickness of the layer of varnish and paint on the surface of the car, which will help to detect possible damage, unevenness, defects, poor-quality repairs. So it is possible to determine whether the coating meets the standards established by the manufacturer, which will ensure long-term, problem-free and aesthetic use of the car. The thickness of the paint coating is measured in different places on the car body, which makes it possible to identify all the places that were repaired, even if the repair was carried out qualitatively. Usually, the quality of painting the metal elements of the car body in the workshop of the manufacturer cannot be reproduced in an ordinary paint shop. When factory painting, the coating thickness is usually 70-130 micrometers, painting in a regular workshop is 200-300 micrometers. The presence of putty on the metal will also be reflected on the thickness with numbers from 500 microns. Data on the repair of body parts give an idea about the final cost of the car (cars with a completely factory paint and varnish coating are more expensive), the danger of operation in cases of serious damage and poor-quality repair, possible damage to metal parts by rust in the future.
